That which does not make me insane, did not try hard enough. It makes me think that originally it might have been in development as more of a hybrid rpg-boardgame like Indiana Jones game or at the least cnan like Gangbusters or Boot Hill with a map and counters for skirmishes.

The ol' Conan game. I've always wanted that. Heard a lot of good things about it's supposedly comfortable lil system. Too bad it's hard to find and expensive when ya do. Then again Far more so than the D20 version. Yeah, I'd love a pdf of that. I actually prefer the world of Fritz Leiber's Newhon and the city of Lankhmar and always wished they would have done a game specific to that as they did Conan. I don't dig on the new Runquest, but I can probably use the new Lankhmar supplements for it for Savage Worlds.

The hard fighting, hard drinking, savage warrior has been the favorite character of countless players through the years. The game comes boxed and contains two slim books, a fifteen-page reference guide, a map, some character sheets, and dice. The actual rulebook is a mere 32 pages, all crunch, no fluff. The second book is a combination Gazetteer and monster manual, written in the style of an archaeological notebook, with short snippets outlining the various countries, cultures, beasts and characters of the Hyborian world.
Again, to call the entries brief would be an understatement. The reference pages are surprisingly one of the more important pieces of information; these 15 pages contain all the information for the various talents as well as several key tables containing wound charts, equipment lists, and combat modifier charts.
