Setup could not finish unable to connect to server gmail

I wait about 20 seconds and receive the "Setup could not finish--unable to open connection to server. That worked for me. I also have set up my outlook. I actually got my name which I was pretty impressed about!!! To everyone who has helped: It works! I now have e-mail again! Two questions, though.

Good Luck. I had this same issue and just now fixed it by uninstalling SmartSwitch. SmartSwitch was still trying to transfer files even though everything came over. I had already tried resetting the network connection, etc. But none of that worked. Uninstalling SmartSwitch fixed it immediately!!!
